Interests
Maggie Bunch, smocking Artisan, designer, author, and instructor specializing in smocking and heirloom sewing has been teaching classes for the Smocking Arts Guild of America for the last eight years. Chairman of the SAGA Design Show/Show & Share at National Convention since 2008, she has worked to standardize the Design Show. Currently published in One Yard Wonders, by the Crafty Planet, Maggie has been published in Sew Beautiful, Creative Needle and SAGA News. Maggie offers smocking instruction through her web log. A volunteer with the Nelly’s Needlers of Woodlawn, Mt. Vernon, VA, Maggie focuses on production of THE Needle Arts Show, recently taking charge of the Collection and Judging phases of the Show. Maggie is certified to judge needle arts through the Maryland State Fair where she teaches Needle Arts judging and certifies new Fair judges. Maggie has judged needle arts at Kenmore Plantation, Historic Sotterly, The Maryland State Fair, and numerous County Fairs in Virginia and Maryland. Maggie, wife to Lew, mother to Sonny and Emily, resides in Northern Virginia.
